Credence follows Tiernan de Haas, a withdrawn seventeen-year-old whose famous, emotionally distant parents die suddenly, leaving her numb and directionless as she’s sent to live with her estranged step-uncle Jake Van der Berg and his two sons in an isolated lodge in the Colorado mountains. Cut off from Los Angeles and modern distractions, she’s forced to learn practical skills and face the harsh wilderness alongside these three men, whose rough, self-reliant lifestyle and complicated personalities challenge everything she knows about family, intimacy, and trust. As winter snows them in and the outside world falls away, blurred boundaries, intense attraction, and long-buried wounds push Tiernan toward a turbulent journey of grief, desire, and self-discovery, while leaving specific romantic choices and outcomes unrevealed.

Jamie’s review

Ummmmm still processing this one. I knew it was taboo going in but not much else. And it is. Taboo. And verrrrry smutty. BUT dare I say complex character driven???

Errrrrrybody is messed up in hurrrr. Seriously, everyone needs therapy. Tiernan, Jake, Noah, and Kaleb. The whole lot! Instead of therapy, they are snowed in at an unreachable cabin in the remote woods of Colorado. You can guess what happens… actually, you probably won't 😆

For me, if it's not fantasy, I want it to be SOMEWHAT realistic and this just isn't. My face was 🫣😳 for too much of this read. But I did become oddly invested by the end and had reading amnesia from the previous 3/4 of the book.

Check those trigger warnings.
