Can we stop using the word “shift” when they aren’t shifting? Just use “move”?

10/10 for the wolf king. I know this turns into a love triangle and I don’t understand how. Callum is too likable. Maybe he’s a pussy. I can’t tell. He does a few stupid things but I don’t know how we are supposed to like Blake more. This BETTER NOT turn into why choose. I will riot.

K are we supposed to be liking Blake by now? He’s obviously got his reasons and motives but I’m getting tired of hating him so much. He needs to start having more redeeming qualities now.

Ok the turn is happening. We are starting to dislike Callum. We did it! Good job Lauren! Finally 60% into book 2 the love triangle is becoming VERY real.

Ooooh this is a good twist. This book is so good. I can’t stop reading!

I feel bad for Callum. And I love Aurora. I’m somehow rooting for Blake. These characters are *chefs kiss*

Omg I guessed right! I am very proud of myself for predicting this twist.

At one point I said to Jamie, "Are we sure we start to hate Callum"? She was like…uh…he does some stuff. Now that I've read The Wolf King AND The Night Prince (The Wolf Queen coming in September 🎉), I get the love triangle but I wanted a little more separation, earlier. In my notes as I was reading I wrote: 1/2 way through The Night Prince and still very confused how Callum is going to mess this up in the end. 🤣 Which led me to what I was pretty sure I knew - and I definitely guessed all of the major twists. BUT I will say - I loved how The Wolf King ended. It was more of a political maneuver plot twist than anything else and that was unique to me. Great cliffhanger for book 1. I flew threw both of these and am SO excited for the final book in this amazing trilogy. Here's where the series started to lose me: the ONLY real conversations between Aurora and Blake were in dreams and I honestly cannot stand that (ahem Onyx Storm). It started to get so repetitive. It starts to feel like a games and trials trope to me (one of my least fave). Then there was even like a dream INSIDE of a dream…I was like COME ON. That and us still hating Blake until very verrrrry far into book 2 is what brought me from a 5 to a 4.5. But I'm mostly being a moody bitch right now. If you love Romantasy - this is a MUST series. You will devour. Trust.
