Lightlark is a fantasy series where the rulers of six cursed realms compete in the "Centennial," a deadly game held every 100 years on the island of Lightlark to break their curses. The protagonist, Isla Crown, is the ruler of the Wildling realm, which is cursed to force Wildlings to kill anyone they fall in love with. As the ruler of a powerless realm, Isla must use her wits to survive the game, navigate complex relationships, and hide her secret while trying to break the powerful curses on her people.

Jamie’s review

Disclaimer - I have only read Lightlark, Nightbane, and Skyshade as of now. These are SO FUN. Definitely more YA/New Adult so there's very little 🌶️ but the plot was plotting. So many great twists I did not see coming! I love a good plot twist!

By the end of Skyshade I was sick of the love triangle between Isla, Grim, and Oro. It's done really well but we OBVIOUSLY want the morally gray shadow daddy to win out over the blonde haired green flag. So let's move on from the tormented heart divided bit. We can only take so much!

I will say I enjoyed Lightlark and Nightbane more, I would rate those a 4/5 stars. Skyshade brought down the series rating to 3.5/5 for me. Hoping Crowntide brings it back up!
