These are CHONKY books, friends. This was a commitment. I don't even know how to summarize the MASSIVE amounts of storyline, its like trying to summarize all 27 seasons of Grey's Anatomy 😂

Tessa is the FMC and the whole series is a giant game of Ancestry.com - no one knows wtf she is and what powers she has. I liked that it was urban fantasy, that's fun. I liked Tessa. I liked her problems with authority.

I just don't like why choose books. And even though it was looking like a possibility in book 3, I thought we could avoid it in book 4, but no. It's just not for me. However, if I WAS going to like a why choose series though, it would be this one. If that helps.

I was invested and actually shocked at how my opinions changed of these characters. I was impressed.

However, too long. Let's TRIM these bad boys down, for the love.

Here's the thing. I'm confused. I will stand by that until I complete the series. I even ASKED @kaila.books if it's a why choose and her exact response was, "No it's not a why choose like that. Please trust". Even after 3/4 books - I DO NOT TRUST. Okay, so it's not a typical why choose but I'm SO confused on whether it is…..and that drives me insane. So much of this series confused the shit out of me. It makes me very excited to read the final book 4 just to get some damn answers because I hate not knowing who I'm rooting for! I mean great job Melissa for being able to write these in a way to get me on one side then get me on the other immediately.

I also just remembered something else I disliked greatly about this series. I feel like new characters were constantly being introduced, and then they would go away for like entire books, only to be referenced slightly later on. Like WHO TF was that? I can't remember all these weird names to begin with…especially when they just pop in like hi, I'm Janyneaexphyx Doe. Bye. Then 3 books later I'm supposed to remember who the hell she was…. Sigh. I'm definitely ready for this series to wrap up so I can make my final decision!
