This BookTok sensation is the first in a slow burn, epic romantasy series following one woman who must risk everything to save her family—and all of mortalkind. Now in a collectible hardcover edition featuring gorgeous full-color endpapers, an exclusive designed hardcover case, and a never-before-seen bonus chapter.

When old secrets catch fire, everything will burn.

In a mortal world colonized by the gods and ruled over by their cruel, magical offspring called the Descended, Diem Bellator yearns to escape her poor village.

Her mother’s sudden disappearance—and the discovery of a dangerous secret about her past—offer Diem an unexpected opportunity to enter the dark world of Descended royalty and unlock a web of mysteries left behind by her mother.

With the dying King’s handsome yet enigmatic heir watching her every move and a ruthless rebel alliance recruiting her to join the growing civil war, Diem must navigate the unwritten rules of love, power, and politics in order to save her family—and all of mortalkind.

Jamie’s review

Finally FINALLY read the Kindreds Curse saga once book 4 came out after being on my TBR for years! The last two books are 1000 pages EACH so this is a commitment.

I went in knowing people have a real problem with Diem the FMC. Maybe it's because I was expecting worse but I actually really liked Diem. She is a forever optimist and bleeding heart which makes her naive at times, but at least she is consistent and she's not the typical stabby warrior FMC that we are used to in romantasy books.

Luther the MMC is of course book boyfriend of the century. That guys has it baaaaad for his Queen 👑

I knew it was the SLOWEST of slow burns, but damn, it was agonizing. Penn Cole makes you put in WERK letmetellyou.

I enjoyed the story, loved all the characters, it was too detailed and slow paced for my liking and some of the bigger moments felt anticlimactic. But all in all, a solid 4 ⭐️ and I am glad I read them.

Recommend for Throne of Glass fans.
