Fey Academy for Spies by C.N. Crawford and Alex Rivers is a contemporary romantasy trilogy beginning with Avalon Tower, where Nia, an asthmatic American bookseller on a long-awaited vacation in France, is kidnapped by the brooding fey spy Raphael after accidentally encountering fugitive demi-fey. Thrust into a hidden war against an invading Fey empire that conquered France years earlier, Nia discovers she possesses rare Sentinel magic capable of piercing the magical veil between worlds and is recruited to train at Avalon Tower, Camelot's elite spy academy for MI-13 agents amid Arthurian lore and modern espionage. Under Raphael's intense oversight—fueled by his vengeful quest against the Fey king—Nia navigates brutal trials, prejudiced classmates, her ex-boyfriend complications, and forbidden enemies-to-lovers tension during perilous missions, transforming from out-of-shape outsider to potential legendary guardian without revealing the war's outcome or her romance's resolution.

Jamie’s review
Yay a completed trilogy! This series was a good time. Nia is from LA and on vacation in the south of France near where the Fey have recently occupied the country. She accidentally helps save some Demi-Fey and finds herself part of the resistance. She joins the spy academy and goes undercover and SURPRISE SURPRISE!!!!! Things are not always what they seem.
I loved Prince Talan the dream stalker 🔥😴 and I love how action packed the plot is. But the nonchalance was strange. Like nothing is a big deal. Maybe because a lot of the characters are British so the whole "keep calm & carry on" vibes apply? But we just breezed on past MAJOR revelations and twists like they were NBD. So odd.
Fun premise but the writing was not my favorite and the banter was not as funny as they tried to be.

Erica’s review
I was super excited to read this because I was seeing a lot of hype. I can understand the hype and it was almost there for me but it just missed the mark a little. I loved how it all began and was definitely sucked in during book 1. Some of the parts of the story I was invested in but the series started to lose me the further along we went. And the fact the FMC kept whining about the MMC breaking her heart years prior, basically when they were kids, because he KISSED her ONCE. My eyes about rolled out of my head. And it kept coming up. We GET it….. Then the 3rd book is titled Lady of The Lake. Who is that? We still have no idea. It's fun and there are enough interesting parts to connect and get you through but you may still be scratching your head a year later like we are.
