Listen, there's a difference between a book with spice and a spicy book. This series definitely falls into the latter category. I am never mad about 🌶️🌶️🌶️ in my books but you know it's too much when you're skim reading scenes and saying AGAIN??? out loud 🤣 It just became a little repetitive.

Adara was insufferable as an FMC. The first 2.5 books are her throwing tantrums like a toddler and it was very triggering as a parent 💆🏼‍♀️ "NO! I HATE EVREN! HE IS NOT MY MATE WAH WAH WAH!" ok babe, I also wish he left you in the last kingdom but here we are.

I was very happy that the last book was from the perspective of Thalia and Sorin because I couldn't handle anymore Evren and Adara.

I didn't LOVE this series, but I liked it! It was just a bit repetitive, I didn't get invested enough in the characters and it was entirely too easy to take down the bad guys, like the ending was a little comical.

I liked this way more than Jamie. IDK - maybe I'm just swayed by smut and a pretty cover? I honestly was so into the whole birthmark thing with the FMC. I hadn't read anything like that and loved that idea that your birthmark is magical and marks you for a purpose. Then enter a spicy love triangle with a Prince and his hotter, broodier brother (not in a why choose way BTW)? Um….where do I get one of these birthmarks? I also wasn't sure I'd even like the last book totally switching up the characters but I also friggen loved that. Are they potato chip books? Yes. Is Holly Renee like the Queen of Smut? Maybe we should send her a crown.
