Never Lie by Freida McFadden follows newlyweds Tricia and Ethan as they drive through a snowstorm to view a remote country house that once belonged to famous psychiatrist Adrienne Hale, who mysteriously disappeared years earlier. Trapped there when the blizzard hits, they explore the seemingly abandoned mansion, where Tricia discovers a hidden room filled with tapes of Adrienne’s therapy sessions and begins listening for clues about what happened to her. As unsettling details about Adrienne’s patients and the house itself emerge, the atmosphere grows increasingly claustrophobic, forcing Tricia to question whom she can trust and how far people will go to keep their darkest secrets buried.

As @dylaansreading says, this is a potato chip book. Sometimes you don't need a full meal, you just want a crunchy, salty snack and that's what this book is.

I didn't think I would read another Freida McFadden book after I disliked The Housemaid, but look at me giving second chances. This was SIGNIFICANTLY better. And I will hand it to my girl Freida, she got me good. I thought I had the twist figured out and I was straight up bamboozled.

Super fast read, I read it in one evening. I liked it enough. Nothing to rave about. It's a potato chip book!
