The Otacian Chronicles is a dark romantasy series set in the kingdom of Otacia, where magic is outlawed, mages are hunted, and class divisions run from the wealthy Center to the impoverished Outer Ring. The story begins with Lena Daelyra, a young mage who has survived by hiding her powers and living on the margins until she’s drawn into a web of danger and forbidden desire involving a seemingly kind upper‑class boy who trains her, the cloistered crown prince Silas, and a growing anti‑mage terror campaign from the throne. As massacres, kill orders, and necromantic threats escalate, Lena and a shifting cast of allies and enemies are forced into uneasy alliances, brutal choices, and a fight for mage survival that spans secret mage enclaves, besieged fortresses, and an ancient rising evil, with later novellas (like The Memories of Merrick) filling in emotionally pivotal missing days and deepening the series’ themes of trauma, love, betrayal, and reluctant leadership.
