Bear with me here because like a lot of books/series we're doing reviews for to launch Basic Bookish, I read this a long time ago. Fated Hearts & A Wicked Dance of Obsidian and Light fit that bill. While I distinctly remember Fated Hearts and loved it, I truly cannot remember reading Wicked Dance. I even double checked and yep - I did in fact read it! 🧐 So, take that for what its worth.

This was a dark fantasy potato chip book IMO. Super easy read, current day/urban setting but with wolves and demons and magic with the fantasy aspects we love. Some nice 🌶️ and uniqueness to this overall story I hadn't come across in other series. It looks like there will be 3 primary works plus the prequel novella (Fated Hearts), so 4 books total. The next book comes out 11/2025. Will I apparently need to re-read Wicked Dance to read a Prophecy of Chaos and Blood? Yes. Am I into that? Also YES. For an easy, likable, not brain bending, crazy world building dark fantasy…this is a nice little incomplete series.
