I.ate.this.book.UP!!! I wanted an easy breezy romcom and Ali Hazelwood just delivers. I was obsessed with her book, Bride, it was a favorite of 2024. She just writes such great characters and throws in ALL the LOLs.

Scarlett is a collegiate diver. Lukas is a collegiate swimmer. They both go to Stanford, these are fun plot details that I surprisingly enjoyed learning about. #education #themoreyouknow

Warning: the spice is spicing! But the parts that are supposed to be outlandish are actually pretty tame. I don’t know, maybe I read too much smut. But it seemed tame to me.

I took a little Romantasy break with this one (which is rare for me) and really only did because it was our girl Ali Hazelwood! Jamie told me to drop everything, jump in, and read this quick little potato chip palate cleanser. Then I read it in 2 days. Once again she sucked me in immediately with the witty banter and I loved learning a little bit about competitive collegiate swimming along the way!

This was the perfect little balance of tension and a light dip into BDSM (very very light IMO – more talking about it than acting on it), but overall the spice was 👌. I really enjoyed how unique the characters were, and I rarely want to re-read a stand alone – especially a contemporary romance but I have a feeling this will get a re-read from me one day! Loved it!
