As a teenager at the prestigious Bradley School, Ani FaNelli endured a shocking, public humiliation that left her desperate to reinvent herself. Now, with a glamorous job, expensive wardrobe, and handsome blue blood fiancé, she’s this close to living the perfect life she’s worked so hard to achieve.

But Ani has a secret.

There’s something else buried in her past that still haunts her, something private and painful that threatens to bubble to the surface and destroy everything.

With a singular voice and twists you won’t see coming, Luckiest Girl Alive explores the unbearable pressure that so many women feel to “have it all” and introduces a heroine whose sharp edges and cutthroat ambition have been protecting a scandalous truth, and a heart that's bigger than it first appears.

The question remains: will breaking her silence destroy all that she has worked for—or, will it at long last, set Ani free?

Jamie’s review

I read this years ago and the fact that I can only remember one of the traumatic events in this traumatic event-riddled book without having to google a summary…. speaks for itself. The characters are not particularly likable, and I know it's because of the coping mechanisms and long term effects of PTSD but the author did not do enough for me to empathize or relate at all. I can't remember any upsides. But I do remember how devastating and gripping that scene was. And that has stayed with me.

Erica’s review

Check yo triggers friends. It's a lot packed in there. So basically - opposite of the luckiest girl alive in a nutshell. It kept me reading but it was heavy with a lot of things not great for women and flashbacks of terrible things that happened in her high school life. All of which are being drug back up. It was super popular and even made into a movie (that I didn't see) so give it a go if you are into that sort of thing. I wasn't blown away.
