The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue follows Addie, a young woman in 1714 France who makes a desperate bargain for freedom and immortality, only to be cursed so that everyone she meets immediately forgets her, leaving her effectively invisible to the world. Over three centuries, she learns to survive in the shadows and leave faint traces of herself in art and stories, while periodically confronting the dark god who owns her soul and wants her to surrender. Her lonely existence is upended in modern‑day New York when she meets Henry, a bookshop worker who, impossibly, remembers her name, forcing both of them to face what their respective bargains truly cost and what it means to be seen and remembered, without revealing how their intertwined fates resolve.

Everyone loves this book and I now understand why. It was a leeeeetle slow for me, but by the end, I could not put it down.

SUCH beautiful writing and character development. Omg. I could not believe the emotional rollercoaster I went on with Addie, Luc, and Henry. The concept is brilliant, I've never read anything like it. What a story. I thought about it for weeks after finishing it and I still think about it now.

Not romantasy, but does have elements of magic, deals with the devil, and immortality. And love. So I would still recommend it to my romantasy-loving besties. It's clever and Addie is a top notch FMC. Love love love this book.
